Overview
Registered Nurse – PACU is a travel assignment in a short-term acute care setting located in Marysville, California. Start date: August 10, 2026. Assignment duration: 8 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,907–$2,036 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift pattern: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM). This role requires California RN licensure and may include unit-specific certifications as described in the notes.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct post-anesthesia care to postoperative patients in the PACU, monitoring for stability during emergence from anesthesia.
- Assess, document, and respond to changes in patient condition; maintain airway, breathing, circulation, and comfort.
- Administer medications as ordered, manage IV access and sedation-related needs, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams.
- Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, and pain management; adjust care plans based on patient progress and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure safe transitions from PACU to step-down units or discharge.
- Provide patient and family education related to recovery, including discharge planning and follow-up instructions.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire
- PALS certification within 1 year of hire; IV Sedation competency within 6 months of hire
- At least two years of recent RN experience in acute care; PACU experience preferred
- BSN degree preferred
- Dysrhythmia competency demonstrated during Orientation
- EPIC electronic medical record experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, perioperative care environment and comply with unit-specific protocols
