Position Overview and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general oversight of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, you will deliver respiratory care services to patients across all age groups, adhering to established respiratory care protocols and departmental guidelines. You will engage in providing patient-specific care standards as instructed and uphold service excellence standards to guarantee high levels of patient satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively prioritize tasks and complete assignments promptly.
• Ensure all required documentation is completed with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Exhibit proficiency in airway management techniques, including airway suctioning, oral and nasal airway care, cuff pressure monitoring, and extubation as applicable.
• Demonstrate skill in conducting routine patient assessments and accurately identifying and interpreting respiratory issues.
• Carry out quality control procedures as necessary.
• Conduct must align with the organization’s values and demonstrate a commitment to the Code of Conduct and ethics compliance program.
• Quickly gain competency in new procedures as they are integrated into departmental practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include serving as a Lead Therapist during shifts.
• Consistently reflect service excellence standards in all interactions.

Qualifications Required:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Neonate Resuscitation certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) certification.
• State Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
• Associate Degree in a relevant field.

Our facility is a full-service medical center offering extensive medical care across two locations. We are a multi-specialty, acute care hospital with over 460 beds, providing advanced women’s health services, including maternity and newborn care with Level I, II, and III neonatal intensive care units (NICUs).
