School Nurse Position

Take on a meaningful role supporting students and staff as a school nurse for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity involves working full time with Kindergarten through 8th-grade students across locations in the South Chicago area. The ideal candidate has a solid foundation in school nursing and a passion for helping children thrive both academically and physically.

Desired Qualifications

• Hold a current School Nurse certification and a valid RN license in Illinois, fully compliant with local and state requirements
• Bring at least three years of recent experience in a school nurse capacity, preferably with elementary or middle school students
• Possess thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and protocols for delivering school health services
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff

Preferred Experience

• Bilingual in Spanish is highly valued
• Current CPR and PALS certification

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver daily routine and emergency nursing care, utilizing sound clinical judgment and compassion
• Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and manage care plans for students with chronic or acute conditions
• Respond to injuries and health emergencies with professionalism and attention to detail
• Document all encounters in accordance with school and district policies
• Serve as a liaison between families, medical providers, and educational teams to support student well-being
• Promote wellness education and health practices throughout the school environment

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
