Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW). Day/Evening ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6–7), and Night ratios are 6–7:1 (stretch 8–10 if staff call-outs).

Assignment Details: Unit size: 35 beds. Orientation: 5 hours.

Requirements:

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York.
• 1 year of RN experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion.
• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• Relevant clinical skills: Dysrhythmia interpretation, management of cardiac drips, blood product administration, wound care, and feeding tube care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics with common diagnoses including osteoarthritis and fractures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including IV team, pharmacy, and respiratory services.
• Manage IV insulin and heparin protocols, as well as PCA and wound VAC care.
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.

Compliance / Notes: Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles. The facility will not allow more than 1 week of request time off within a contract. Background checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
