As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Human Resources Assistant to join our Human Resources team at our Peoria, Illinois headquarters. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who's ready to build a career in human resources. You'll play a key role in supporting our hiring process from processing pre-employment screenings to setting candidates up for hire in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and good judgment matter. Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM What You'll Do Verify that all pre-employment requests are fulfilled including the ordering of pre-employment checks such as background checks, motor vehicle record checks, and drug screens. Organize and manage candidate information Accurately and efficiently enter data into internal databases, including our HRIS system Scan and file documents as part of our ongoing shift to a fully digital filing system Prioritize and manage time-sensitive requests Keep management informed on candidate status and screening results Work closely with onboarding coordinate hiring efforts for new employees Support other HR and company needs as they arise What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Previous administrative or customer service experience required HR experience or a related degree is a plus Strong typing and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail A professional demeanor and commitment to confidentiality Excellent verbal and written communication skills while following through with requests Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel Why You'll Love Working Here Company-paid life insurance up to $50,000 Voluntary medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage Teladoc, FSA, and/or HSA options Paid time off (PTO) for personal time or sick leave 6 paid holidays 401(k) plan Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Paid, hands‑on training Annual performance reviews with potential for raises ELM Utility Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
