Role Description This full-time Maintenance Technician role is an on-site position based in the Washington DC Area at The Willoughby of Chevy Chase Condominium. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on building systems, equipment, and common areas, including basic repairs, inspections, and adjustments. Daily tasks include responding to service requests, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and assisting with upkeep of HVAC, plumbing, and other building components. The role also involves monitoring equipment performance, maintaining tools and supplies, and documenting work completed in accordance with property policies and safety standards. The Maintenance Technician collaborates with the property management team, vendors, and other staff to support safe, clean, and efficient operations for residents and visitors. Qualifications Strong equipment maintenance skills, including routine inspections and basic mechanical repairs. Ability to perform troubleshooting and diagnostic work on building systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Experience with preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime. Hands-on maintenance and repair skills across common building systems; background in industrial or commercial maintenance is beneficial. Knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building operations; familiarity with condominium or multifamily environments is a plus. Commitment to safety practices, including proper use of tools, PPE, and adherence to building and regulatory standards. Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents, colleagues, and vendors. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and respond to after-hours or emergency calls as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in maintenance-related fields are preferred.
