Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support its growing finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and has experience processing high-volume invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. The organization is focused on making a meaningful impact in the community and is looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Process high-volume vendor invoices and employee reimbursements. Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and supporting documentation. Enter accounts payable transactions into the accounting system accurately and timely. Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships. Assist with month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accrual support. Maintain W-9 documentation and assist with annual 1099 reporting. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and internal controls. Support finance team projects and audit requests as needed.
