About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Licensed Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Neuro Progressive Care experience required Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP and central lines Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac drips Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in a Neuro Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will focus on caring for medical neurological patients. The unit provides monitoring surveillance for patients. Staff will be expected to float across facilities as needed. Strong EKG interpretation skills are essential, as passing a required exam is part of compliance. Responsibilities include managing patients with various neurological conditions such as strokes and seizures. The nurse will also provide care related to traumatic brain injuries and other neurological diseases. A patient-to-nurse ratio of 5:1 is expected. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services, is essential. The nurse will conduct various patient assessments and document care in the required charting system. Flexibility with scheduling is necessary, as weekend shifts will be required. This position is suited for individuals with a strong foundation in neuro care and excellent critical thinking skills.
