About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Neuro PCU experience required. Previous Charge RN experience preferred. Description: Mandatory questionnaire must be completed. Candidate must be aware of the job description. Candidate must be flexible with scheduling. Client has a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences. No upcoming vacations or barriers that would prevent compliance completion on time. Candidate must be aware of the Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs. 3x12 hour shifts at night. Rotating weekends are required. Floating across facilities may be necessary. Experience in CVA, CPAP/BiPAP, TR band, and Yale Swallowing screen is essential. 3 West is a 30-bed Medical Neuroscience Progressive Care department. The department focuses on the care of medical neurological patients. A Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department provides patient monitoring surveillance. Staff is scheduled for 6-week periods through a self-assisted schedule. Patient ratio is 5:1. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and others. Primary patient population includes stroke, seizure disorders, and traumatic brain injury. Special procedures include monitoring for stable multiple trauma and spinal surgeries. Travelers are subject to float to any facility if needed. Compliance requires a complete file by noon EST the Wednesday prior to the start date. Education verification through a third party is required. A clean background check is necessary. EPIC experience is required. Candidate must be prepared for the EKG exam with 2 attempts allowed. Study materials are not provided. Modules will average 2-4 hours and are completed during orientation.
