Human Resources Coordinator

A growing mid-size New York City law firm is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its HR team. This position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented HR professional who enjoys a broad role and wants continued exposure to multiple areas of human resources within a professional services environment. Responsibilities Coordinate new-hire onboarding, orientations, and internal personnel updates. Maintain electronic personnel files and HR records. Manage employee inquiries and support day-to-day HR administration. Coordinate secretarial coverage and track time off for legal support staff. Support annual performance reviews, including scheduling, tracking, meeting notes, and feedback summaries. Assist with recruiting, including resume review, interview scheduling, reference checks, and background checks. Coordinate firm events, employee engagement initiatives, and the Summer Intern Program. Assist with HR reporting, intranet updates, compliance requirements, workplace postings, and annual trainings. Qualifications 2+ years of Human Resources experience within a law firm required. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; HR-related coursework is a plus. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer-service skills. Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee matters. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
