Executive Recruiter - Technology / Corporate Functions

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week New York Life’s Talent Acquisition function is seeking an experienced Executive Recruiter to lead senior-level searches across Technology, Financial services and corporate leadership roles. This position partners closely with senior management and HR leadership to deliver high-impact talent solutions for critical leadership and specialist roles. The successful candidate will bring an executive-search mindset, strong advisory skills, and deep expertise in research-driven recruiting, including comprehensive market mapping and competitive intelligence.This role manages a focused portfolio of highly complex searches—typically 5–8 at any given time—allowing for deep engagement with stakeholders, rigorous assessment, and thoughtful execution throughout the full search lifecycle.What You’ll Do:Lead end-to-end executive recruiting for senior-level roles, managing a limited portfolio of complex searches (approximately 5–8 concurrently)Partner directly with senior leaders and executives to define role requirements, success profiles, and search strategies aligned with business objectivesConduct comprehensive research and market mapping to identify target organizations, talent pools, and passive candidates, building a deep understanding of competitive landscapesLeverage data, market intelligence, and research insights to inform sourcing strategies and advise leadership on talent availability and positioningDevelop and execute bespoke candidate engagement strategies, including targeted outreach and long-term relationship buildingPerform in-depth candidate assessment, evaluating leadership capability, functional expertise, cultural alignment, and long-term potentialAct as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, providing ongoing guidance, market perspective, and informed recommendations throughout the search processLead offer strategy and negotiation, navigating complex compensation structures, incentives, and executive-level employment considerationsPartner closely with HR Business Partners, Compensation, Legal, and other internal stakeholders to design and deliver competitive, compliant offersSelectively engage and manage external search firms, ensuring quality, cost effectiveness, and alignment with internal search strategyDeliver a high-touch, confidential, and professional candidate experience consistent with executive search best practicesTrack and evaluate search effectiveness through reporting, insights, and post-search analysisWhat You’ll Bring: 8+ years of recruiting experience, with significant experience leading executive searches within financial services or similarly complex, regulated organizations is required.Experience sourcing and recruiting Technology Executives, working knowledge of the technology landscape and ecosystem.Bachelor’s degree preferred, advanced degree a plusDemonstrated success partnering with senior management and executive stakeholders on critical, high-impact hiresProven expertise in executive search methodologies, including market research, talent mapping, and competitive intelligenceStrong experience structuring and negotiating complex compensation packagesExceptional consultation, influencing, and negotiation skills, with executive presence and credibilityExcellent written and verbal communication skills and sound judgment in sensitive, confidential situationsHighly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple senior-level searches simultaneouslyPay TransparencySalary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 Overtime eligible: Exempt Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes Sales bonus eligible: No Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
