Event Associate

Bring celebrations/events to life in a one-of-a-kind museum setting! The Westmoreland Museum of American Art is hiring for a dependable, energetic Banquet Event Associate to create a positive and enjoyable experience for guests while ensuring Museum property is always kept safe, clean and properly maintained.

What You’ll Do:

• Transform event spaces before and after weddings, showers, parties, and special events.
• Assist with bar service at events (must be or be willing to become RAMP certified)
• Dishwash
• Work evenings and weekends as needed (2-5 hours per week)

What We’re Looking For:

• Friendly, professional, and reliable team player
• Ability to lift, set up, and move event equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
• Prior experience in events or hospitality a plus

Responsibilities:

- Assisting with table and chair set up and breakdown

- Assisting with food and beverage preparation, setup and clean up

- Cleaning, recycling and ensuring a clean environment at all times

- Placing event décor, linens, table settings, etc.

- Greeting vendors and guests and directing them as appropriate

- Enforcing venue policies and procedures

- Answering questions and providing directions

- Following Museum safety procedures in performing all duties of the job

- Performing other duties as assigned by the Events Manager.

Candidates for this position must be flexible, reliable, observant, and possess strong customer service skills. Prior experience working with the public in a special event or hospitality setting is preferred. Individuals must be available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends . Ramp certification required. If not currently certified, Museum will provide training and candidate must be able to take and pass training to obtain certification. This position is Part-time, less than 20 hours per week with an irregular schedule. Events known at least a month in advance,
