Location: Baltimore, MD
Salary: $80,000 base

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Service Manager to lead and grow a commercial roofing service operation in the Baltimore market.

This role is responsible for overseeing service operations, field personnel, customer relationships, estimating, profitability, and overall department performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial roofing background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to build lasting client relationships while driving revenue and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily commercial roofing service operations, including office, field, and sales activities.
• Drive department revenue, profitability, gross margins, and overall business growth.
• Review and qualify incoming service requests and work orders.
• Prepare estimates, proposals, roof surveys, preventive maintenance reports, and related documentation.
• Oversee scheduling and coordination of service technicians and field crews.
• Maintain pricing, invoicing, payroll, job costing, and department reporting.
• Monitor project and service profitability and ensure work is completed within budget.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop service personnel.
• Review technician performance and provide ongoing technical and operational training.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop relationships with prospective customers.
• Promote preventive maintenance programs, repairs, emergency response services, and other roofing solutions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and industry best practices.
• Oversee safety documentation, training, equipment, and company vehicles.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Prepare and manage proposals, purchase orders, contracts, and construction-related documentation.
• Ensure projects and service work are completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial roofing experience , preferably within service management, estimating, operations, or project management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, repair procedures, preventive maintenance, and industry standards.
• Previous experience managing or growing a roofing service department strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience managing employees, field crews, budgets, and operational performance.
• Strong estimating, pricing, and job-costing abilities.
• Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction or roofing management software.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred but not required.
