The Human Resources Assistant is an entry-level specialized position and serves as a first point of contact for the Human Resources Division. The position provides administrative, recruitment, records, personnel data, technology, and customer service support while working with established Human Resources procedures and systems. The Human Resources Assistant supports recruitment and selection activities, employee processing, personnel records, Human Capital Management (HCM) system transactions, routine reports and data validation, HR events, and department projects. - Supporting classified and certificated recruitment and selection activities, including job postings, candidate communications, examinations, interviews, and recruitment records.
- Serving as a welcoming first point of contact and providing responsive customer service to applicants, employees, administrators, and the public.
- Assisting with applicant and employee processing, required documentation, clearances, appointments, and onboarding activities.
- Entering, reviewing, updating, and retrieving employee and assignment information in LACOE BEST HCM and other Human Resources systems.
- Reviewing records and data for completeness and accuracy, running established reports and queries, maintaining trackers, and assisting with routine data validation and reconciliation.
- Maintaining confidential personnel, recruitment, assignment, training, leave, separation, and other Human Resources records.
- Coordinating Human Resources events and activities such as recruitment fairs, orientations, onboarding sessions, trainings, interviews, and examination panels.
- Using and learning evolving HR technology, digital records, applicant tracking, time and attendance, absence management, spreadsheet, database, and related systems.
- Supporting special projects, audits, records reviews, process documentation, system testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

- Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
- College-level coursework or formal training in human resources, business administration, public administration, information systems, records management, or a related field is desirable.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible clerical or administrative support experience involving data entry, records maintenance, customer service, and the use of computerized information systems is required.
- Experience supporting human resources, recruitment, employee records, or personnel transactions in a public agency or local educational agency is highly desirable.
- A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites are required.

- Seniority Credit - Up to 5 Points: One (1) point for each year of service with Inglewood Unified School District, not to exceed five (5) points.
