Mill Machinist

CNC Mill and Laser Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill and Laser Machine Operator to set up and operate our 3-axis Haas CNC mill. The successful candidate will work with Haas Control from start to finish, including fixturing, tooling, work and tool offsets, and program prove-out. You will be responsible for making G+M edits to adjust feeds and speeds, running production while maintaining precision, and conducting first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers and calipers. Additionally, you will troubleshoot machine and process issues, handle routine maintenance, and keep your area organized while communicating job status to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set up 3-axis Haas CNC mill with Haas Control, including fixturing, tooling, work and tool offsets, and program prove-out.
• Make G+M edits to adjust feeds and speeds.
• Run production and ensure precision with ±.005" tolerance.
• Conduct first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers and calipers.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues to maintain workflow.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Communicate job status to leadership on the shop floor.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and mechanical assembly.
• Experience with laser operation and machine setup.
• Skillful in using micrometers, calipers, and conducting inspections.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities for machine and process issues.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints for laser cutting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in setting up and operating CNC Mills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn and be trained.

Work Environment

Work in a laid-back, medium-sized shop that is climate-controlled and not noisy. The pace varies, with quick turnaround times. The position is on the first shift, working Monday-Thursday from 6-4:30, with optional partial days on Fridays. The shop maintains a professional atmosphere, with a mellow supervisor and an engaged owner.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $87000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Full Benefits, 401k match, etc.
