Hours per week: 40 FLSA Status: Exempt Division: Academic Affairs Department: Enrollment Management (Adm) Work Location: Gage Undergraduate Admissions Center Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,482 Primary Purpose of Department The mission of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is to meet the established University enrollment goals by recruiting undergraduate applicants. Our goal is to recruit applicants who can contribute to and profit from the University in academic programs and activities; assist prospects and applicants in realizing their academic ambitions through counseling; accurately and efficiently review academic credentials and notify applicants of decisions; and provide the University community with data necessary for advising and enrollment planning. Providing timely and accurate information and effectively monitoring the admissions process is critical to the successful recruitment of qualified students. Functionally, the office staff works closely with the faculty and support units on campus and with high school counselors, parents, and community college counselors off-campus Primary Purpose of Position The Assistant Director of Operations provides leadership and oversight for operational functions within the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, with a primary focus on application processing, academic credential evaluation, and workflow management. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, this position supervises a team of three Academic Credential Evaluators and ensures timely, accurate, and efficient review of undergraduate applications in support of institutional enrollment goals. The Assistant Director plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence, improving business processes, ensuring compliance with university and state policies, and supporting a student-centered admissions experience. Summary of Position Responsibilities Supervise, train, mentor, and evaluate a team of three Academic Credential Evaluators. Oversee the review and evaluation of domestic and/or international academic credentials for undergraduate admission. Assist in maintaining data integrity within the student information system and admissions CRM platforms. Analyze operational processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery. Ensure adherence to university, state, federal, and accreditation regulations related to admissions processing and student records. Partner with campus stakeholders, including Enrollment Management, Registrar, Information Technology, Institutional Research, and academic colleges to support admissions operations. Other Information about this role: Standard office environment with extended periods of computer use. Occasional evening or weekend work during peak admissions periods. Hybrid work eligibility may be available based on departmental needs and university policy. Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Three years of progressively responsible experience in admissions operations, credential evaluation, enrollment management, or a related higher education function. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience Master's degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, or 3 years of relevant experience Strong leadership and staff management capabilities. Experience with large public university admissions operations. Familiarity with domestic and international credential evaluation practices. Experience using systems such as Banner, Slate, PeopleSoft, or similar enterprise platforms. Knowledge of FERPA and higher education compliance standards. Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and operational efficiencies.
