LPN Part Time

Under the direction of licensed nursing personnel, the LPN performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification. The LPN must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. The individual must show knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. The LPN should possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs. Resident's activities of daily living needs must be met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment. Tasks include hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, and turning/positioning. Documentation must be completed per protocol. The resident's environment and safety must be maintained as outlined in the plan of care. This includes answering call lights and alarms promptly and maintaining cleanliness of the unit. The resident's nutritional needs will be met as outlined in the plan of care. This includes meal delivery, tray preparation, and adaptive equipment as necessary. The resident's preferences and choices shall be honored. The resident's rehabilitative needs should be met as outlined in the plan of care. This includes range of motion, ambulation, transfers, and proper body alignment when using assistive devices. Resident rights, refusals, and concerns must be reported to the Charge Nurse in a timely manner. Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status should be identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is anticipated, and required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
