Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position spans the full academic year, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact serving a long-time school client. Your willingness to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and travel between multiple campuses will be essential to meet the diverse needs of the district’s student population.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active New Mexico state licensure (NMRLD) and NMPED certification required by start date (NMPED certification is efficiently obtained for those proactive in the process)
• Prior experience as a school-based occupational therapist is strongly preferred
• Ability to supervise and mentor COTA(s)
• Prepared to travel between school sites and support students of all ages
• Enthusiasm for fostering growth and independence in children and young adults

Responsibilities:

• Deliver assessments, direct therapy, and consultative OT services to students across various campuses
• Supervise COTA(s) as part of a collaborative therapy team
• Document progress, contribute to IEP meetings, and partner with educators and families
• Adapt strategies and interventions to meet a wide range of student needs
• Be responsive and flexible with travel and scheduling
