Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role License: NC or Compact license pending OK for submittal Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS, PALS, MOAB Must-Have: - Minimum 2 years of experience - Traveler experience required - Required skills: IV Start, Triage, and Telemetry - Ability to float between departments as needed - Must pass EKG testing prior to starting Description: This position is for a registered nurse in the emergency room. The unit cares for a diverse patient population and sees a high volume of patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3-5, with approximately 250 visits per day. The role may involve floating between various units based on patient needs. Nurses are required to work a minimum of 4 weekend days every 6-week time period. They must adhere strictly to call-off policies. Candidates should have experience in acute psychosis management, intubation assistance, and care of ventilated patients. The role also includes responsibilities like triage, starting IVs, and managing dysrhythmias. Successful candidates will demonstrate teamwork and adherence to behavioral expectations in all interactions. Continuing education and completion of pre-start modules are necessary before beginning the role. All requests for time off must be pre-approved. Candidates must be flexible and open to the demands of the job. References can be pending at the time of submission.
