Foster Parent Certified Case Manager

Position Overview Devereux Florida Health provides services for children and families in the child welfare system, ensuring a community without abuse, neglect, and abandonment so all children can grow to their full potential. Based in Sarasota, FL, and covering Sarasota, DeSoto, and Manatee counties, the Case Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing services for participants in the Sarasota Pilot Program with a primary focus on ensuring safety, stability, and supporting permanency. The role requires consistent engagement with children, foster parents, biological families, and service providers to assess needs, ensure additional services are in place, monitor progress, and communicate with all parties. The Case Manager facilitates access to necessary services, including medical, educational, and behavioral health supports, while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory requirements. The manager advocates for the child’s best interests, ensures all decisions promote well‑being and permanency outcomes, and collaborates regularly with multidisciplinary teams—including therapists, supervisors, and community partners—to address barriers and support placement stability. The position also involves preparing any necessary reports. Position Details Salary: Starts at $24.04–$27.41 per hour (based on education and relevant experience). Schedule: Full time. Location: Hybrid; in‑office & community‑based (covers Sarasota, DeSoto, and Manatee counties; other counties as needed). A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is preferred. Qualifications Full Florida Board Certification in Child Welfare Case Management Two years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families is strongly preferred Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex cases are essential Professionalism, cultural competency, and a commitment to supporting children and families through a trauma‑informed and strengths‑based approach On‑call availability and capacity to transport and supervise visits if required Additional Requirements Valid Florida Driver’s License On‑call rotation for schedule Minimum age 21 years Successfully pass pre‑employment medical screenings (Drug Test and TB Test) Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida (more information available at Devereux has a zero‑tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to systematically reduce the risk of abuse in our organization.
