About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Candidates must possess ACLS and BLS certifications. Telemetry experience is required. Description: The unit consists of 29 private rooms. There are currently 18 staff members including RTs, RNs, CNs, and other healthcare professionals. Day shift has a staffing structure of 1 CN, 2 PCTs, 1 UC, and 7 RNs. Night shift is staffed with 1 CN, 2 PCTs, and 7 RNs. Patient ratios are either 1:4 or 1:5. The unit uses telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse oximetry. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Typical procedures performed in the unit include blood transfusions, IV starts, and removals of midline and central lines. Patients may include those at high risk of falls. Respiratory and cardiac assessments are routinely conducted. Ideal candidates are team players, engaged, and self-motivated. Additional preferred certifications include NIH Stroke and PALS. Experience in ICU, Telemetry, or PCU is advantageous. Floating may include Med Surg, Tele, PCU, and ED holdings. Dress code is navy blue scrubs. No weekends or on-call duties are required.
