Grant Accountant Contract- 2+ months Hybrid NYC Requirements Passport (NYC city funding system) experience New York City grant funding accounting experience 3+ years grants accounting experience Strong experience posting grants to the GL and reconciling grants Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field Preferred Financial Edge NXT system experience Job Description This Grants Accountant role is a technical, execution-focused position designed for a high-output "doer" tasked with clearing a significant backlog of grant-related financial work. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and at least three years of specialized experience in New York City grant funding. Crucial is proficiency in the PASSPort. The daily responsibilities center on the full lifecycle of grant accounting, including posting grants to the general ledger and performing rigorous reconciliations to ensure audit readiness. While the role is hands‑on rather than strategic, preferred candidates will have experience with Financial Edge NXT to navigate the organization’s specific financial ecosystem and streamline the reporting process.
