About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to oversee all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers, and to lead a team in achieving corporate goals and ensuring profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hiring, training, coaching, and counseling of staff, as well as the development and execution of annual marketing programs. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing inventory, negotiating with vendors, and maintaining service levels. The Vice President of Procurement will also be expected to interact with customers and vendors in a professional manner, establish efficient procedures, and continuously improve purchasing strategies based on industry knowledge. Applicants for the Vice President of Procurement position at the company should have a Diploma/GED or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6-7 years in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with over 7 years of experience in procurement with a focus on the food service industry. The role demands a candidate with a strong background in procurement, a deep understanding of the food distribution industry, and a proven track record of managing a team to success. The ideal candidate will be adept at problem-solving, performance management, and be able to demonstrate a history of improving purchasing processes and strategies.
