Position Overview Assistant Principal - an educational leader who fosters high levels of academic achievement in the school community. The role supports student results in line with agreed‑upon goals set by ICEF Public Schools and is an on‑site position; remote work is not available. Our mission is rooted in five pillars: Educating and Empowering Courageous Leaders Providing a Diverse Community that Honors Each Student’ s Uniqueness Fostering Academic Excellence Nurturing Healthy Minds Inspiring Critical Thinkers To learn more, visit Essential Functions Team Leadership Administer and instructively lead the school, supervise instruction, discipline, culture, and special education programs. Collaborate with stakeholders to set student‑achievement goals, assess progress, and develop the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Work with the ICEF Academic Team on implementing ICEF Instructional Initiatives at the school level. Guide high‑quality instruction, observe and coach teachers, and promote data‑based instructional practice. Supervise team members and provide guidance to the Principal on individual evaluations. Lead curriculum development and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs. Facilitate professional development and training to enhance instruction for all students, including those with behavioral and learning challenges. Collaborate with the Attendance Team to improve school attendance. Student Support Programming Assist teachers in developing MTSS plans. Collaborate with the School Counselor and Principal on social‑emotional learning and mental wellness programming. Develop a school‑wide discipline team aligned to PBIS, trauma‑sensitive approaches, and restorative practices. Support classroom‑management plans aligned to the PBIS model. Ensure fidelity of the discipline and PBIS program. Implement best practices in pre‑referral interventions and IEP‑related supports. Work with the Principal to identify educational programming for special‑education students and meet IDEA compliance. Student Achievement and Data Analysis Continuously monitor, track, and analyze student achievement data to identify needed supports and strategies. Lead a data‑driven school culture and use data by teachers, students, and staff. Implement effective, high‑quality data analysis cycles with teachers to evaluate ICEF Common Assessments, unit assessments, and formative assessments. Implement RTI strategies and structures based on achievement data. Professional Responsibilities Model strong, respectful relationships with students and families, supporting teachers and staff. Maintain work hours extending beyond school hours for meetings, events, Saturday school, parent information meetings, etc. Be available for contact with parents, students, and staff after class, at night, or on weekends via cell phone or in person. Supervise instructional aides, campus aides, and/or intervention specialists. Additional Duties Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education, public administration or policy, or a related field. Valid, Clear California Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential, or Pupil Personnel Services Credential (or an equivalent out‑of‑state credential transferable to California). Valid California Administrative Credential. Experience working with adult learners, coaching teachers, and delivering professional development. Significant experience developing school‑wide systems/procedures and driving initiatives with staff. Deep understanding of PBIS, restorative and trauma‑informed practices. Ability to leverage data to make data‑driven decisions. Experience coaching, leading and supporting teachers. Strong record of helping students achieve academic success, primarily with minority and low‑income students. Excellence in time management, taking initiative, and follow‑through. Multi‑faceted, multi‑skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help students reach academic excellence. Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and verbal communication. Strong leadership, team management, and project execution skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally. Proficient use of Google‑based applications. Tuberculosis (TB) clearance. Background check clearance. Commitment to educational equity and ICEF’s mission. Preferred Qualifications At least 5 years of progressive professional experience in a public charter school, charter management organization or public school district. Proficiency in using school‑based information systems and applications. Master’s Degree.
