Location: The Chrisman Group corporate office in Enterprise, Oregon

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours/week / Monday - Friday

Compensation: $21-25 DOE

Requirements:

Core Responsibilities

General Accounting

· Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial records.

· Post and reconcile transactions including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.

· Assist with monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and GL tie-outs.

· Maintain schedules for assets, liabilities, loans, reserves, and owner-related activity.

· Support audits, lender reporting, and financial reviews.

Invoice Processing and Payment

• Receive, review, code, and process utility and telecom invoices in accordance with company approval and accounts payable procedures.

• Verify that each invoice belongs to the correct property, service address, account, billing period, vendor, and general ledger account before payment.

• Monitor due dates and payment status to ensure invoices are paid on time and to prevent late fees, penalties, and service interruptions.

• Research duplicate, missing, estimated, past-due, unusually high, or otherwise questionable charges before payment.

• Reconcile vendor statements and online account balances to company records and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Utility Account Management

• Maintain electric, gas, water, sewer, garbage, and other recurring utility accounts for assigned properties and corporate locations.

• Open, transfer, update, and close accounts when properties are acquired, sold, placed in service, taken out of service, or experience changes in management or occupancy.

• Confirm that service remains active for common areas, vacant units, offices, maintenance facilities, and other locations for which the company is responsible.

• Track deposits, refunds, credits, final bills, and closed-account balances through completion.

• Coordinate landlord or property-management account agreements and automatic service transfers when applicable.

Telecom Account Management

• Maintain internet, telephone, mobile, cable, alarm communication, and other telecommunications accounts for assigned locations.

• Coordinate service installations, transfers, upgrades, downgrades, suspensions, and cancellations with vendors and internal staff.

• Maintain an inventory of active services, lines, equipment, contract terms, recurring charges, assigned locations, and responsible users.

• Track equipment returns and retain return receipts and confirmation numbers to prevent continued billing or unreturned-equipment charges.

• Assist site and corporate staff with billing issues and vendor coordination while routing technical support matters to the appropriate vendor or IT contact.

• Review exception reports, aging reports, and vendor notices for past-due balances, shutoff warnings, returned payments, expiring contracts, and unresolved credits.

• Recommend practical changes that reduce cost, improve account visibility, or strengthen payment and service-continuity controls.

Controls and Compliance

· Follow internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.

· Maintain accurate records that support audits, lender reviews, and regulatory compliance.

· Protect sensitive financial and personal information.

· Uphold company standards for professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

· Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial processes and banking.

· Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Comfort working in accounting systems and learning new software.

· Clear written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

· Experience in an accounting role.

· Experience with Yardi or similar accounting platforms.

· Interest in long-term growth and expanded responsibility.
