Sales Director, Institutional Cap Intro Platform

Location: New York, NY (Hybird)

Compensation: $145,000–$165,000 base salary, plus a strong commission package

The company

Our client is the leading capital introduction membership and. events platform for the global asset management industry. Its stakeholders are C-suite decision-makers at the largest asset management firms ($1B+ of AUM) and the institutional investors they serve: CIOs and executive committee members of sovereign wealth funds, pensions, insurers and family offices. It hosts curated events around the globe to support capital raising, knowledge exchange and deal-making. With new backing and a mandate to grow, it is investing in its North American sales team.

The role

This is a consultative sales role based in New York. You will take over an existing book of business and win new clients among public and private markets asset managers across North America, selling conference sponsorships, memberships and thought leadership. You will report to executive leadership and work closely with the content, investor relations and events teams.

What you will do

• Manage and grow an existing book of asset manager relationships, and exceed targets on both renewals and new business.
• Hunt, pitch and close new prospects across public and private markets managers.
• Build and execute a growth-focused sales strategy for your accounts.
• Act as a trusted adviser to clients, understanding their strategic priorities and building solutions around them.
• Maintain a disciplined, transparent pipeline in Salesforce.
• Meet clients in person across North America and attend the firm's conferences, with some international travel.

What you will bring

• Around 8–10 years or more of sales experience with a proven record of hitting targets.
• Strong knowledge of institutional investing and of the asset management industry in North America, ideally with an existing network of contacts.
• A consultative style: a good listener, persuasive, and a tenacious closer.
• A proactive networker, in person and online, who works well in a collaborative team.
• Business Development track record in funds or aligned industry.
• Experience selling conferences, events or memberships is a plus.
• A university degree.
