Additional Information about the Group: We are highly committed to engage and retain individuals in services while employing strategies to assist in understanding substance use disorders and mental health issues as chronic diseases. Services are non- confrontational and built on establishing a relationship with mutual respect and dignity. We recognize that individuals have different needs and varying degrees of commitment to treatment services. As such, our programs offer a unique open access program that provides flexibility to meet individual treatment needs.Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment: Individuals who want to stop their illicit drug use can find it very difficult. Their need to satisfy cravings or avoid withdrawal can be so intense that they feel desperate and overwhelmed. At the right dose, and with psychosocial intervention (e.g., counseling), medication assisted treatment can suppress cravings and opioid withdrawal symptoms to help individuals stay in treatment and avoid illicit opioid use. The group currently offers two forms of medication assisted treatment for opioid dependence: (1) methadone and (2) buprenorphine (Suboxone). These longer-acting opiate medications work by stabilizing the brain chemistry, preventing withdrawal, and reducing cravings. When properly prescribed and taken, people do not experience a high from these medications. For people with severe opioid dependence, these medications may be prescribed for a period of years to help stabilize the person while they make changes in other life areas.Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP):Intensive treatment is often recommended for both individuals who are new to treatment as well as established clients who are struggling with relapse or an increase in symptoms. This level of service involves attending treatment for a minimum of nine hours per week three clinical contacts per day (group, individual counseling session, psychiatric consult) over 3 days per week. This level of service is based on treatment needs and is generally only indicated for several weeks, followed by outpatient treatment for ongoing support. Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment: Group therapy is the primary form of outpatient treatment. Group programming schedules are developed weekly to address the changing needs of our clients.Outpatient Mental Health Treatment:Psychiatric services are available on-site on an as-needed basis. Clients are seen for individual psychotherapy by a psychiatrist, psychologist or licensed clinician. Therapy emphasizes individualized treatment planning, long and short term goal setting, couples/family therapy, and crisis intervention. Clients with psychiatric conditions that may benefit from medications are treated by the Medical Director and/or staff psychiatrist.
