Position Summary

The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join its growing behavioral health team in Shelton, Connecticut .

This full-time, permanent position offers a balanced schedule with primarily outpatient responsibilities and limited call coverage. The psychiatrist will work closely with an experienced team of clinicians to provide comprehensive psychiatric care in a supportive, collaborative, and academically affiliated environment.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric treatment planning
• Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders using evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, social workers, and other specialists to coordinate patient care
• Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
• Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments when appropriate
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and wellness strategies
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, peer review activities, and quality improvement initiatives
• Support organizational goals related to patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and behavioral health integration
• Remain current with developments in psychiatry through continuing medical education and professional development activities

Qualifications

Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Training: Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program

Licensure & Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry; eligible for Connecticut medical licensure

Experience: Prior clinical experience preferred; new graduates and residents completing training are welcome to apply

Skills: Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
