The team partners closely with Commercial Marketing, Strategy, and business leadership to evaluate performance, assess market opportunities, and support investment decisions that drive business growth and operational execution.At Medtronic, we bring bold ideas forward with speed and decisiveness to put patients first in everything we do. We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.As a Principal Financial Analyst, you will serve as a strategic finance partner to the Defibrillation Solutions Marketing and Strategy organizations. You will provide financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical support to business leaders while delivering insights that inform strategic, operational, and investment decisions.Primary ResponsibilitiesPartner with Marketing and Strategy leadership to support financial planning, forecasting, and business decision-making.Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, market opportunities, and strategic investments.Analyze operating results, key business drivers, and financial trends to provide actionable insights.Lead month-end and quarter-end financial reporting activities, including variance analysis and performance reviews.Build and manage forecasts, budgets, and long-range financial plans.Analyze profit and loss (P&L) statements, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve financial performance.Prepare financial reporting, presentations, and business reviews for leadership teams.Support process improvements, reporting enhancements, and ad hoc financial analyses across the organization.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree and 7+ years of finance or accounting experience OR advanced degree and 5+ years of finance or accounting experience.Experience in financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.Experience developing financial models and performing complex financial analyses.Experience evaluating business performance and providing financial recommendations to support decision-making.Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and business leaders.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting commercial, marketing, strategy, or product portfolio organizations.Experience with P&L management, long-range planning, and strategic investment analysis.Experience with financial reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, or data visualization solutions.Experience operating within a large, matrixed organization.Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or experience within the medical device, healthcare, or other regulated industries.For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
