Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

Unit: Sterile Processing

Location: City, State

Shift: Evenings (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM)

Shift Length: 10 hours

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience Required: 1 year of Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly, decontamination, and sterilization of operating room instrumentation.
• Utilize ultrasonic cleaning, decontamination processes, and assembly techniques.
• Load and operate sterilizing equipment, including VPRO systems.
• Maintain compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) verification
• Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Schedule & Call Requirements

Weeknight Call: 24-hour call every 8 weeks on Saturday and Sunday

Response Time to Call: 30 minutes

Weekend Call: 24-hour call every 8 weeks on Saturday and Sunday

Orientation

Week of orientation will include in-person training. Clinicians must be in-state for the duration of the orientation, even if the first day modules are remote.
