Corporate Paralegal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Corporate Paralegal to join a growing insurance organisation in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. Working directly alongside the General Counsel within a lean legal function, this is a broad and highly visible position offering significantly more responsibility than a traditional paralegal role. You will support legal and business leadership across corporate governance, regulatory and licensing matters, commercial contracts, compliance and wider day-to-day legal operations. The business operates across the U.S. within the Life & Health insurance market and is looking for someone who can become a trusted, hands-on member of the legal function. The Role Support the General Counsel across a broad range of corporate and commercial legal matters Assist with corporate governance, entity management and maintenance of corporate records Support state licensing and regulatory requirements across a nationwide business Assist with drafting, reviewing and administering commercial and vendor agreements Support regulatory and compliance matters across the organisation Coordinate with external counsel on litigation, disputes and specialist legal matters Assist with corporate transactions, due diligence and wider organisational matters Provide legal support to HR and other internal business functions where required Maintain legal documentation, deadlines, filings and internal tracking systems Identify potential issues proactively and help improve legal processes and workflows The Ideal Candidate Several years of paralegal, legal operations or comparable legal support experience Experience within Life & Health insurance is highly desirable Exposure to insurance licensing, regulatory or compliance matters particularly valuable Experience with corporate governance, entity management and commercial contracts Comfortable working directly with senior legal and business stakeholders Highly organised with strong attention to detail Proactive and able to work independently within a lean environment Strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to identify issues beyond the immediate task Comfortable operating within a fast-moving and evolving business The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond a narrowly defined paralegal position and take on genuine ownership within an in-house legal function . You'll work closely with the General Counsel, gain exposure to a wide variety of legal and commercial matters and play an important role in supporting a business undergoing an exciting period of change and development. The position is based in the Greater Tampa Bay Area and can operate on a hybrid basis with minimal time required in the office .
