Personal Banker I – Austin, Texas Location: Austin, Texas 78757 General Function The Personal Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The role involves processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff to help customers understand and address their financial needs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create a memorable customer experience through proactive outreach in person, over the phone, or other appropriate channels. Use a consultative approach to uncover customer needs and tailor recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain a working knowledge of the bank’s products, services, and processes. Collaborate with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and related financial information to recommend appropriate solutions. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines. Model ethical behavior in accordance with the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. Provide ongoing support that reinforces the value of current and new technology. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 months of customer service experience, or a college degree, or equivalent military experience. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with new household acquisitions and deepen customer relationships. Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Business acumen and sound decision‑making ability. SAFE Act registration through Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at the time of employment. Working Conditions Normal office environment with extended computer screen usage.
