Facility: Mystic, CT

Compensation: Hourly Rate Commensurate with Experience

Job Class : Full Time or Part Time

Position Overview

The Marine Service Tech is responsible for the maintenance and repair of outboard engines as well as repower and rigging of new engine packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine and outboard engine repairs, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs on boats according to the work orders provided, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Previous marine outboard factory training is preferred, and this position is eligible for additional outboard training certification programs. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform Repairs According to Work Orders: Complete all assigned repairs on boats according to the specifications and timelines outlined in the work orders.
• Ensure Quality of Work: Follow proper repair procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Report on Issues or Delays: Notify the Service Manager if there are any issues or delays with the repair process that require assistance or that could impact the completion time.
• Maintain a Clean Work Environment: Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored when not in use.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a marine technician with a focus on boat repairs and a strong understanding of marine systems and equipment.
• Honda, Yamaha or Mercury outboard engine tech certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and occasionally on weekends during season.
• Basic knowledge of marine electrical, mechanical systems, and electronics is a plus.
