Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work onsite within a school setting, collaborating closely with educators, families, and community partners to foster a healthy school environment. Your typical work schedule will consist of 40 hours per week, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some evenings until 8:00 p.m., and occasional weekend outreach events and health fairs. This vibrant work setting allows you to impact the health and well-being of children and their families directly.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough health assessments, screenings, and history evaluations to identify healthcare needs in individuals and families.
• Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, offering preventive care and promoting health education tailored to community needs.
• Collaborate with schools and community organizations to develop and implement effective health education programs aimed at fostering wellness.
• Advocate for patient rights and ensure culturally sensitive care that respects diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care to guarantee smooth healthcare transitions and continuity of care.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records in compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Your primary focus will be on the diverse demographic within the school environment, addressing the health concerns of students and their families from various backgrounds. Qualifications

• Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with a comprehensive understanding of clinical best practices.
• An active state nursing license in New York.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of three years of clinical experience in community health, public health, or a related field.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with proven expertise in building rapport with diverse populations.
• A strong commitment to social justice and health equity, with a keen interest in advocating for vulnerable communities.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
