Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing end-to-end, full cycle payroll processing in a non-outsourced environment. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations while processing payroll for multiple shifts and job types. The Payroll Coordinator works independently and efficiently, collaborating closely with Human Resources, Department Managers, and employees to maintain accurate and timely payroll operations.
Responsibilities:
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing end-to-end, full cycle payroll processing in a non-outsourced environment. This role ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations while processing payroll for multiple shifts and job types. The Payroll Coordinator works independently and efficiently, collaborating closely with Human Resources, Department Managers, and employees to maintain accurate and timely payroll operations.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full cycle payroll processing including paycheck preparation and reimbursements.
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws and organizational policies.
- Manage payroll for multiple shifts and diverse job types within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to payroll activities.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Department Managers, and employees to resolve payroll issues.
- Utilize automated time and attendance systems to support payroll functions.
- Ensure accurate Federal Form W-2 reporting and related documentation.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in employee payroll processing and reimbursements.
- Experience with full cycle payroll processing in a non-outsourced environment.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with PeopleSoft in a high-volume healthcare environment.
- Experience with automated time and attendance systems.
- Understanding of Federal Form W-2 reporting requirements.
- Experience with Workday payroll system.
- Experience with UKG payroll system.
- API experience related to payroll or time and attendance systems.
- On-site position requiring physical presence during scheduled shifts.
- Must adhere to organizational policies and compliance standards.
- Standard work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 days).
- Assignment length: 26 weeks.
