About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Procurement to oversee all aspects of product procurement, including program negotiation with manufacturers, and to lead a team in achieving corporate goals and ensuring profitability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the hiring, training, coaching, and counseling of staff, as well as the development and execution of annual marketing programs. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing inventory, interacting with customers and vendors, and establishing procedures to enhance the efficiency of the purchasing department. The Vice President of Procurement will also be expected to improve purchasing strategies and processes based on industry knowledge and may be involved in managing the marketing and merchandising function. Applicants for the Vice President of Procurement position at the company should have a Diploma/GED or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 6-7 years in procurement or a related area, including supervisory experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with over 7 years of experience in procurement with a focus on the food service industry. The role demands a candidate with a proven track record in procurement, a deep understanding of the food distribution industry, and the ability to manage a team effectively. The ideal candidate will be adept at problem-solving, have strong negotiation skills, and be committed to maintaining a high level of productivity and service.
