Vice President, Systemwide Shared Services

Vice President, Systemwide Shared Services University of California, Office of the President | Oakland, California The University of California (UC) seeks applications for the newly created senior leadership role of Vice President of Systemwide Shared Services (VP). The VP will provide strategic vision, executive leadership, and systemwide oversight for UC’s two enterprise‑wide shared services organizations: UCPath and the Retirement Administration Service Center (RASC). Responsibilities Lead the implementation of a one‑stop service model supporting employees from hiring to retirement, enhancing operational consistency across the UC system. Oversee more than $33 billion in annual financial transactions across shared services portfolios. Collaborate with campus leaders, systemwide stakeholders, and governance bodies to align operations, improve service delivery, and demonstrate the value of shared services within the decentralized system. Position the organization for sustainable growth and service expansion while remaining attentive to the needs of retirees and employees across campuses, medical centers, and research centers. Qualifications Accomplished executive experience leading large‑scale shared services organizations. Strong financial and operational acumen with excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead through influence in a complex, consensus‑driven environment. Higher‑education experience is valued; corporate or other shared‑services leaders who are motivated by public mission, scale, and institutional complexity are also encouraged to apply. California residency required; position offers flexibility between the Office of the President in Oakland or UCPath offices in Riverside, with frequent travel to service centers and UC campuses. Compensation UCOP will provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The full salary range is $352,700 to $584,400 annually. The budgeted salary range is $375,000 – $475,000.
