This isn't a general diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic opening.

We're specifically looking for an experienced technician who already knows electric forklifts and battery-powered material handling equipment — and we're starting at $35/hour+ for that expertise.

You know the difference between replacing a component and actually diagnosing the failure.

You're comfortable working through electrical schematics, controllers, contactors, sensors, wiring, motors, industrial batteries, charging systems, and intermittent electrical faults.

And you're experienced enough to work independently at customer locations, make sound diagnostic decisions, communicate clearly with customers, and get equipment safely back into operation.

We're hiring a Senior Electric Forklift Technician to support customers throughout Cheraw, Chesterfield County, and the surrounding South Carolina service territory.

Diesel, automotive, or general heavy-equipment experience alone will not substitute for the hands-on electric material handling experience required for this position.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Field Service Technician, you'll independently diagnose, service, and repair electric forklifts and battery-powered material handling equipment at customer locations throughout your assigned territory.

Your r esponsibilities will include:

• Diagnose complex electrical and electronic faults on electric forklifts and warehouse equipment

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, fault codes, and manufacturer service information

• Troubleshoot controllers, contactors, relays, sensors, switches, motors, wiring harnesses, connectors, and related electrical components

• Diagnose and service industrial batteries, charging systems, and associated electrical components

• Use meters, diagnostic software, laptop-based service tools, and testing equipment to isolate failures

• Diagnose intermittent electrical issues and identify root causes rather than simply replacing parts

• Troubleshoot hydraulic and mechanical systems associated with electric material handling equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, safety checks, and scheduled service

• Complete repairs designed to maximize equipment reliability and minimize repeat service calls

• Document diagnostics, repairs, parts, labor, and equipment conditions accurately

• Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly with customers

• Maintain tools, parts, and inventory assigned to your service van

• Work independently while utilizing WMH technical and OEM resources when additional support is needed

• Support developing technicians by sharing technical knowledge and best practices

• Represent WMH professionally and safely at every customer location

This position is specifically designed for a technician comfortable diagnosing the increasingly sophisticated electrical and electronic systems found in modern material handling equipment.

The Experience We Need

For this opening, electric forklift experience isn't simply preferred — it's essential.

We're looking for someone with demonstrated hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing electric forklifts or closely related battery-powered material handling equipment.

• 5+ years of professional forklift/material handling service experience preferred , or equivalent demonstrated technical capability

• Hands-on electric forklift repair and diagnostic experience — REQUIRED

• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

• Experience using a digital multimeter and electrical diagnostic equipment

• Working knowledge of electric motors, controllers, contactors, sensors, wiring, and related systems

• Experience with industrial batteries and charging systems

• Hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting capability

• Ability to independently diagnose complex or intermittent equipment faults

• Experience performing repairs at customer locations

• Strong service documentation and customer communication skills

• Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable for company vehicle use

• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of field-service work

Experience with other major material handling manufacturers is also valuable.

Linde-specific experience is not required. Electric forklift expertise is.

We'd rather be transparent about the experience we're seeking.

→ Automotive repair with little or no forklift experience
