Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Our team is passionate about providing compassionate care and support tailored to each person's unique needs. We are currently seeking a motivated and caring individual to join us as a Direct Support Professional. A minimum of one shift per pay period is required for Per Diem employees.

Our BLOOM (Building of Lasting Opportunities for an Optimistic Mindset) program is a community-based program providing comprehensive residential and day services in staffed homes. The program was created to support adults with autism, dual diagnoses of intellectual disabilities and mental illness, developmental disorders and other neurobiological disabilities, significant mental health issues, and medical complications. Emphasis is placed on developing communication skills, building social supports, person-centered planning, self-determination enhancing daily living skills, supporting the community and social integration, providing trauma-based therapies, and mental health stabilization—with the goal of increased independence and participation within the community.

Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and providing emotional support and companionship.

Key Responsibilities:

· Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.

· Foster a positive and respectful relationship with clients while promoting their independence and personal choices.

· Assist clients in developing skills for everyday living and participate in social and recreational activities.

· Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care and support provided.

· Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other team members to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.

· Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or a related field preferred.

· Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
