GENERAL EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Job Duties
Performs work that is characteristic of a variety of trades in order to repair, modify, and maintain the lock and dam machinery, floating plant equipment and machinery, and engineering equipment.
Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles hydraulic pumps, air compressors, valves, controllers, etc.
Fabricates lock and dam parts and required items in the maintenance shop.
Troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and maintains floating plant including towboats, barges, work boats, skiffs, outboard motors, etc.
Repairs and maintains engineering and industrial type equipment (i.e. pay loaders, mobile cranes, tractors, hoists, heavy trucks, air compressors, engine-generators, gasoline engines and electric driven pumps, accessory equipment and attachments).
Operates various equipment including 0.5 ton to 10 ton trucks.
Maintains Preventative Maintenance (PM) records for all project equipment requiring maintenance services.
