Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring an Associate's Degree in respiratory care and RRT certification.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital Respiratory Therapy department offering advanced treatment for conditions like asthma and COPD,
• Provides testing, ventilator support, rehab, education, and 24/7 emergency care,
• Patient population includes neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients,
• First shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 6a-6p,
• 36 hours per week,
• Uses EPIC for charting and order entry,

Job Requirements

• Associate's Degree in respiratory care required,
• No prior experience required,
• BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required,
• RRT certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required,
• State respiratory care license required if applicable,
• Strong verbal and written communication skills,
• Ability to operate all equipment related to the job,

Additional Information

• Manages and assesses patients on mechanical and non-invasive ventilation across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations,
• Educates patients and families on ventilator care and safe equipment use,
• Performs oxygen therapy, aerosol medication administration, humidification, suctioning, and chest physiotherapy,
• Performs airway management, supportive ventilation, and chest compressions during CPR,
• Obtains, processes, and reports arterial blood gases independently,
• Assists with maintenance and troubleshooting of respiratory care equipment,
• Serves as a resource for nursing, physicians, and respiratory orientees and students,
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities and safety training programs,
• Responds promptly to respiratory care pages and customer service needs
