Job Title

Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neurological and spinal assessments, including C-collar placement and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and monitor patients receiving IV therapy using infusion pumps
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed per unit guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with eligibility to work in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or similar acute care setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with neuro and trauma patient populations
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Dedicated neuro and trauma care experience in a progressive or intermediate care environment
• Familiarity with Skylifts, patient lifts, and tracheostomy care
• Strong team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
