Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Representative

This role oversees and supports all aspects of environmental health and safety within a manufacturing and tooling environment. The EHS Representative follows, communicates, and enforces internal safety policies and OSHA regulations to promote a safe workplace. This position coordinates safety programs, investigates incidents, and develops corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Follow, communicate, and enforce all internal safety procedures and OSHA regulations across the facility.
• Coordinate and manage safety programs, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Investigate safety incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits in manufacturing, tooling, warehouse, and production areas.
• Monitor environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance and document findings and actions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate safety and environmental reports using Microsoft Office tools.
• Support and participate in EHS management activities, including safety planning and program implementation.
• Deliver or assist with safety training for employees, reinforcing safe work practices and procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with employees and providing excellent internal customer service.
• Identify safety and environmental hazards and recommend practical solutions to mitigate risks.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce adherence to safety rules.
• Collaborate with operations and construction-related activities on campus to ensure safe work practices.
• Support environmental safety and environmental services initiatives as needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA and H&S requirements relevant to the facility.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in an EHS role, including coordinating safety programs, investigating incidents, and developing corrective and preventive actions.
• Hands-on experience with OSHA requirements and safety compliance.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or tooling environment.
• Knowledge of environmental health and safety principles and practices.
• Ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey safety expectations and procedures.
• Ability to provide clear guidance and support to employees on safety and compliance issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification or training exposure.
• Experience with EHS management and safety management systems.
• Experience in safety training and safety program development.
• Familiarity with environmental safety and environmental services.
• Exposure to construction-related safety within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Customer service mindset when supporting internal stakeholders on safety matters.

Work Environment

The role is based on a campus that includes two mold build shops and one production shop, operating within a warehouse and manufacturing setting. You will work around tooling, production equipment, and typical industrial processes. Eye and ear protection is provided as needed, and closed-toe shoes are required at all times. The second shift operates with a smaller team of approximately 12 people, offering a more close-knit workgroup. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and collaboration with production and maintenance personnel to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52,000.00 - $78,000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
