Social Media Specialist

Terroir Tribeca is looking for a creative and highly motivated Social Media Specialist to take ownership of our social presence and help tell the story of Terroir online.

We’re looking for someone who naturally understands the worlds of restaurants, wine, music, nightlife, fashion, food, and New York culture. You should know what makes people stop scrolling, what makes a piece of content feel authentic, and how to turn the personality of a restaurant into a digital community.

This is a hands-on creative position. You’ll be out in the restaurant, behind the bar, at events, talking with our team, capturing the room, and finding the moments that make Terroir what it is.

The role will initially focus on Terroir Tribeca, with the potential to expand into a larger position managing the social and creative presence of multiple restaurants within our growing group.

• Manage Terroir’s day-to-day presence on Instagram, TikTok, and X

• Develop and execute a social strategy that reflects the personality and culture of Terroir

• Regularly be on-site capturing food, wine, staff, guests, events, music, and the overall atmosphere

• Shoot, edit, and publish engaging short-form video

• Develop creative concepts, recurring content, and social series

• Design graphics and other digital assets when needed

• Write captions and copy that sound like Terroir, rather than generic restaurant marketing

• Keep up with emerging trends, sounds, memes, formats, and online conversations

• Find smart and creative ways to connect those trends to Terroir’s world

• Maintain a content calendar while staying flexible enough to react to what's happening in real time

• Help build an engaged community around the restaurant and actively interact with followers

• Work with the culinary, wine, bar, and management teams to uncover stories and content opportunities

• Support promotion of wine events, dinners, parties, special menus, collaborations, and other programming

• Monitor performance and use analytics to understand what is resonating with our audience

• Continually experiment, test new ideas, and improve our social presence

• Hospitality, restaurant, wine, lifestyle, fashion, entertainment, or media experience is a plus

This is an on-the-ground position, not a traditional desk job.

The person in this role needs to be available nights and weekends, when much of the restaurant's energy, programming, and most compelling content happens.

You should be comfortable working around a restaurant schedule and coming in specifically to capture dinners, events, busy nights, special programming, and other moments that can't be recreated during a typical 9–5 workday.

You’re someone who notices things.

You notice the bottle someone is drinking, the song playing in the room, the bartender making a drink, the chef putting the finishing touch on a plate, the regular who's been coming in for 15 years, or the unexpected moment that happens on a Friday night.

You understand that Terroir is a place with a personality, and your job is to translate that personality into something people want to follow, talk about, and ultimately experience for themselves.

You don't want Terroir to look like every other restaurant on Instagram.
