MAINTENANCE/MECHANIC

Responsibilities Maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and fixtures of the distribution center. Maintain lift trucks and keep them in good repair. Perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. Minimum Qualifications Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Minimum 18 years of age. Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency. Ability to work weekends, overtime, and any shift. Accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with distribution center terms and processes. Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects. Ability to work within set time frames and fixed deadlines. Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes. Ability and willingness to continue education, as necessary. Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, or tools (hand truck, hand and power pallet jack, power lift equipment – company will train). Valid driver’s license. Limited Maintenance Industrial license. Desired Qualifications High school education or GED plus two years experience in plumbing, blueprint reading, general building maintenance, hydraulic and electrical experience; or four years in electric or gas forklift repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience installing and repairing plumbing. Experience maintaining electrical systems. Experience maintaining ventilation systems. Experience installing, repairing, and replacing racking. Experience maintaining doors. Experience maintaining shipping/receiving dock equipment. Experience inspecting and evaluating roof structures. Experience welding, cutting, designing, and repairing aluminum and steel structures and devices. Experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems, air compressors, and fire systems. Experience performing preventative maintenance and repairs on lift trucks. Experience repairing other equipment as needed. Experience repairing and maintaining battery chargers and batteries, keeping them in working condition. Experience maintaining tuggers, carts, pallet jacks, sweepers, scrubbers, and forklift attachments. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
