Job Description

As a Security Officer Transitional Shelter in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transitional Shelters. Join Allied Universal as an Transitional Shelter Officer where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this people-first role, you will support residents and staff with integrity, teamwork, and a reliable, agile approach that helps create a welcoming environment.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential buildings, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized activity and/or property-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, help to deter unauthorized entry, and communicate with residents, guests, and site contacts regarding security-related matters.
• Support a respectful residential environment by observing daily operations, reporting maintenance or behavioral concerns that may impact the location, and assisting with post orders and incident response protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
