As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a secure and welcoming environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting daily operations through clear communication and professional presence. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $19.85 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTime Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM Sun 12:30 PM - 08:30 PM What You’ll Do: Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location. Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures, referring prohibited items or concerns to appropriate personnel. Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site requirements while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures. Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Minimum Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located. Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree. A guard card or license is preferred. A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred. Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
