Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. This position involves providing exceptional patient care to diverse populations, including patients with medical surgical diagnoses, respiratory conditions, and those requiring palliative or hospice care. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to enhance patient care.
• Assist in the management of patients with various diagnoses, including diabetes and psychiatric conditions.
• Utilize EPIC charting system for patient documentation and record keeping.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy efforts.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical surgical or telemetry unit.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Ability to pass an EKG exam during the onboarding process.

Schedule

This is a night shift position, requiring a 3x12-hour schedule with rotational weekends and holidays as needed. The shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
