Senior Accountant of Investment Accounting

Who You’ll Work With:The Corporate Accounting team of AB is in search of an AO – Senior Accountant of Investment Accounting to join their U.S. Controller’s organization. The candidate will report to the Manager of Accounting and will be involved in the monthly close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, analysis and reporting. Additionally, this role works closely with Treasury, Tax, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal, IT, other business units and international counterparts. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment while still ensuring accuracy and accountability across the team. She / He will play an integral role in maintaining existing standards, while also assisting in the development of a more efficient and streamlined group and process.What You’ll Do:Prepare and review monthly journal entriesPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and analyticsPrepare and review P&L variance analysis and provide management w/ analyticsPerform consolidation adjustments for legal entities and select mutual fundsProvide quarterly disclosure support for financial reportingCommunication within Finance process owners to gather budgets & expectations on a quarterly basis (i.e., firm meetings, marketing campaign launch, etc.)Liaison with Printing & Fulfillment, Distribution Services and TA Admin Services related to Promotions and ServicingMonitor the firm’s compliance with testing and control documentation requirements of SOX 404 from a Corporate Accounting perspective.Provide guidance and assistance to business units across the firmReview existing processes and procedures with the objective of proposing and implementing improvements.Participate in or lead special projectsWhat We’re Looking For:Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in accounting (or finance related)3 - 5 years’ experience in accountingCPA preferredMust have proven experience in accrual-based accounting practicesExperience with intercompany accounting is a plusFamiliarity with Consolidation accounting preferredMulti-currency ledger experience preferredUS GAAP vs IFRS preferredQualifications & SkillsAbility to multitask, execute and follow-through to completionWell-organized with the ability to prioritizeStrong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by natureProficient MS Office w/ advanced Excel and Access (relational databases) knowledgeAbility to synthesize and distill large amounts of dataAbility to generate & implement new ideasAttention to detail and strong problem-solving abilitiesStrong client focus with the ability to respond timelyCan work independentlyPreferred SkillsExcel Super userWorkday Financials or other ledger maintenanceAbout ABWe are a leading global investment management firm offering high-quality research and diversified investment services to institutional clients, retail investors, and private-wealth clients in major markets around the globe.
