General Statement - Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration. When a vacancy occurs, the department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool. Appointments are on a full-time or part-time basis and vary in duration, a couple weeks, a semester or an academic year, depending on the specific needs of the department/program. Salary is dependent on number of courses taught and duration. We seek individuals who work professionally and effectively with all individuals, possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Montana State University. Duties and Responsibilities - Teaching on-campus courses. Curriculum and/or course development. Participating in weekly faculty meetings.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - 1. DVM Degree or PhD in relevant field.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - 1. Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses 2. Demonstrated knowledge of veterinary college student development. 3. Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity.

The Program - The WA-MT Cooperative Program in Veterinary Medicine is a partnership between the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Montana State University. The cooperative program serves students with interests in all facets of the veterinary profession, whether they are interested in companion animals, horses or livestock, in private practice, industry or academia, or whether they are unsure. The opportunities available forDVMeducation in the cooperative program prepares graduates for entry into any of the exciting dimensions of veterinary medicine. Students in the cooperative benefit from hands-on experience and a big network. The small class size provides personalized attention while offering opportunities for professional growth and the development of clinical, leadership and interpersonal skills
The Department
The College - As the foundational component of Montana's land grant university at Montana State University, the College of Agriculture (COA) and the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station (MAES) provide instruction in dynamic degree programs and conduct research relevant to the challenges in Montana's agricultural and natural resource communities. We create opportunities for students, staff and faculty to excel through hands-on learning, to serve through campus and community engagement, to explore unique solutions to distinct and interesting questions and to connect Montanans with the global community through research discoveries and outreach. TheCOAoffers eleven baccalaureate, nine masters, and four doctoral degree programs from five departments and one division.MAESconducts research through the Department of Research Centers (Corvallis, Conrad, Creston, Havre, Huntley, Moccasin, Sidney), in collaboration with other academic departments, near Bozeman, and throughout Montana.
